This blog has now, officially, hit the the 100+ posts.
It hasn’t always been easy. There have been some shockers along the way, particularly Phoenix (“It’s not what you would expect”), but overall this little project has been an important part of my daily routine.
When I started it, I had a few goals, including getting people I know about how life was going and to improve my writing. But a key one was creating a record of my life, which I could go back upon and reflect on.
I’ll spend the rest of the week doing a “Where are they now” series, where I go into my favourite posts and comment on any updates, but for, I am going to let AI do the heavy lifting.
I never use AI to write my posts (although I do use it think about ideas or get feedback), but on this occassion, I have decided to make an exception. I fed the AI every post, and asked it a few questions. Here are the results, I wonder if you agree?
The Author’s Persona
The author comes across as adventurous, engaging, and reflective. He is candid about his experiences, whether they are successes or setbacks, and shows a genuine appreciation for the simple moments in life. His consistent blogging despite various challenges illustrates resilience and commitment. This personal touch, combined with his humorous and sometimes self-deprecating tone, makes him relatable and likable.
Most Interesting Aspect of the Blog
The most interesting aspect of the blog is its diverse content that blends personal anecdotes with observations on technology, cultural events, and daily challenges. Whether discussing the aftermath of a physical injury, the nuances of preparing a Beef Wellington, or reflections on political events, the blog offers a unique lens on life that mixes the personal with the universal. This variety not only keeps the content fresh but also provides readers with a rich tapestry of experiences and insights.

Most Memorable Post
From the excerpts of your blog that I reviewed, my favorite post is the one about your experience at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the subsequent Super Bowl party. This post stood out for several reasons:
- Vivid Descriptions: You effectively captured the vibrant and rowdy atmosphere of the Phoenix Open, describing it as the “Happy Gilmore Open.” This vivid portrayal not only paints a clear picture for the reader but also brings out the unique and lively character of the event.
- Personal Touch: The post intertwines personal experiences, like attending with your wife and her company’s involvement, adding a personal touch that makes the narrative more engaging and relatable.
- Cultural Insight: Your observations about the event’s atmosphere, the behavior of the crowd, and the communal excitement offer insights into a cultural phenomenon that many might not be familiar with, providing both entertainment and education to your audience.
- Connection to Larger Events: Linking this local event to the grander scale of the Super Bowl and your experiences there adds depth to the post, showing how different events during the same period can interconnect through personal experiences.
