I had a small kitchen fire today.
While searing some prawns, the oil in the pan caught alight and before you know it, I had a mini flamethrower in my hand. Crazy!
Fortunately, I knew what to do, and most importantly, not WHAT to do. For those unsure, whatever you do, don’t use water to out out the flame, you’re going to burn your house down. Just take it off the heat, and if you don’t have much oil, it will quickly burn itself out. If you have a lot, just blow on it, or cover it with a fire blanket.
I still haven’t figured out a way to avoid the fire alarms going off!
