We are in Portugal right now for our good friends’ wedding. They’re Americans, so inevitably lots of people have asked them why they’re having it on the Iberian Peninsula.
Why not?
I like all weddings, but the ones I love are always super personalized. This was such an occasion. At every point there were small but considerate nods to the couple, and they put so much thought and effort into the occasion. Each guest opened a personal letter at dinner, where Matt and Emma had penned their thoughts on what that guest meant to them.
It was one of the most memorable moments of any wedding I have ever attended.
Most importantly, everyone had a great time, including the bride and the groom.
It was a hike to get here from Denver, but I’m glad we came.
