I have recently been exploring X, formally known as Twitter, for the last few days. It’s been quite a learning experience.
My biggest criticism of the app that it isn’t great at onboarding you. I don’t mean the whole email and password side of things, but rather directing you towards things you will find interesting. After the first day or two, I was being served up slop like this:

It turns out that as a new user, you have to train your algorithm. So for the last few days, I have been purposefully liking and muting certain themes to get me information that is helpful.
This plan has turned out to be wildly successful. In an hour or two; terrible, low effort, and vile information that just made me feel garbage has been replaced with uplifting, informative, and useful content.
I’m a fan, but possibly not enough to be a paid subscriber. Until then, follow me @demverito!
