There is a real AI buzz going round in SF at the moment, it’s impossible to ignore.
Felipe, my associate, and I thought we would dive in head first and attend a demo day where eight different early stage companies pitched. It promised to be a cool experience, plus everyone likes a free dinner (which was actually rather good).
At the early stage, there are all sorts of founders. Dreamers. Misfits. Weirdos.
But a few really stood out, and I have already booked in some time tomorrow to chat with one of them to see if we can partner with them.
A cool experience, and has me thinking about the differences in the technology industry based on locale. For a lot of people, technology is just an industry. In SF, it’s a lifestyle, an aesthetic, and for a few, a calling.
I need to give it some more thought on whether I like it or not.
