I called the council today to sort out our stolen bin. It went as well as I would have expected.
The good: The council is really good at the things that don’t matter. They have a call back service, so I didn’t have to wait two hours on hold. The lady who served me, Alice, was surprisingly professional and helpful. They gave me a reference number and told me that my request was a “priority”.
The bad: Call back services and kind people to talk to is nice, but what I REALY want is a new bin. Despite being a “priority”, they said it should be available in “a couple of weeks”.
Until the council delivers, I’ll be redistributing the refuse of production into my neighbours’ bins.
