My CEO, who was equal parts fascinated and dismayed by my loud, laggy, laptop, bought me a MacBook today.
He didn’t have to, I didn’t ask him. But I am glad I have it.
Going from a Windows PC, which is what I have been using my whole life, to a Mac, feels slightly daunting. Unlike the iPhone and iPad, it’s not 100% intuitive, and there is clearly an “Apple Way of Doing Things”.
My CEO mentioned it might take a few weeks to get used to it, and that afterwards, you’ll never go back. We shall see.
In the meantime, I am thrilled by how smooth, light, and quick it is. My current Lenovo laptop is constantly whirring, and the internal temp hovers between 70-90 degrees. If I put it in backpack, the whole thing becomes a furnace.
Compare that to the Mac, which is as cool and quiet as it was turned off.
I have joined the darkside.
