One of my favourite things about Americans is their love for pageantry. While it is fair to say that societally, they tilt to the practical in everyday life, they do enjoy a big bash every now again, where nothing is off limit.
The crazy event in the calendar this week is the DNC, where Kamala Harris will accept her nomination. I dont really follow this, but it is certainly a spectacle.
For me, the most interesting thing is to see the crowd. With only two parties, by definition these organizations have to be “Big Tents”. So in the crowd you see all types; cowboy hats, pastors, people in suits and people who like they’re about to hit the club. It’s razzle, dazzle, and seems to be working.
