  • Bondi Sadness

If you’re reading this, you have access to the internet. And if you have access to the internet, you have heard about the tragic events in Bondi. A lot of people are surprised. And you know what, so am I. Perhaps I shouldn’t be, but the Australia I grew up in just didn’t have this…

  • Mud Brick

We are back in Auckland now, back to reality really, but today we were fortunate enough to go for a long, leisurely lunch at Mudbrick. One of Waiheke’s best restaurants (and they have a few!), it was quite the experience. New Zealand isn’t a perfect place, but it does have exceptional food. Looking over the…

  • Island time

After a week in SF, I’m back in Auckland. Even better, I’m in my favourite part, Waiheke. With so much going on with travel, visas, work, weddings etc, Ky and I booked in a night just for the two of us on the island. We’re in a tiny but rather charming bach (pronounced batch, the…

  • SF

I’m on the way to the airport after a very full, very productive week in San Fran. As soon as that plane takes off, I am going to pass out. Late nights, long days, and a new bed take their toll. Beyond work, I have been able to do a lot. Staying with one of…

  • Demo Day

There is a real AI buzz going round in SF at the moment, it’s impossible to ignore. Felipe, my associate, and I thought we would dive in head first and attend a demo day where eight different early stage companies pitched. It promised to be a cool experience, plus everyone likes a free dinner (which…

  • Luck of the draw

Over the weekend, FIFA announced the draw for the 2026 World Cup. Earlier in the year, Ky and I bought two tickets to Match 31 in SF; now it was time to see what we were going to get. We already knew which group we had been assigned, and I couldn’t believe our luck when…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
