  • Enough

The past two days have been “Prime Day” aka Amazon’s biggest sale of the year. 24.1 billion (with a b) dollars were spent in the past 48 hours as people rushed to get their hands on whatever. I was temped to look, but not enough to pull the trigger. After No Spend Septemb, I don’t…

  • Date night

A really wonderful evening was had. Simple, elegegant. Fun. We simply went to ramen, had a tasty bowl, and shared a stunning fish collar cooked in a Korean sauce. The highlight was being able to take the time to connect with one another, during a busy week, within a busy time of our lives.

  • DenHac

I recently joined DenHac, the US’ third oldest “HackerSpace”. Sometimes called MakerSpaces, these are shared workshops were people can do woodwork, auto repair, fix electronics, code, solder, weld, and more, all in the company of like-minded creators. I thought it was super cool. One of my goals in the next little while is to get…

  • Blind

I lost my contact lenses today. Dropped it on the floor and couldn’t find it for the life of me. They were my last pair. Luckily I have glasses, but it’s been the first time in probably 20 years where I have been wearing glasses consistently. Plus draconian laws mean I can’t just order more…

  • First Steps

Today was the day! After weeks of standing, crab walking along walls, and wild bear crawls, our darling daughter took her first steps. They’re small, rare, and uncertain. But it’s the start of something wonderful. I wonder where her steps will take her.

  • 1st birthday

It’s Occi’s first birthday party (we still have a week or so until she turns 1), and it should be a great day. Our theme is Paris, and we have the ham and cheese croissants, macrons, berets, baguettes, and flags all lined up at the park. Our guests arrive in a little under an hour,…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
