  • Blog Post #65: Dune

I went to the movies this evening to watch Dune with some friends. This isn’t the first time we have gone to the cinema today, but it certainly was one of the more memorable times. Last time we went and saw The Flash. Not only was it terrible, it was over three hours. Trash. Dune,…

  • Blog Post #64: My wife left me

But only to New Zealand for a work trip. It’s always a bit sad to see her go, I miss her terribly. This time it is for a few weeks for work, and while I know she’ll have a great time and it’ll be a great company event, there is still a sadness to it….

  • Blog Post #63: Super Tuesday

One of the things I was really looking forward to in America was election season. The intrigue, the gossip, the blood sport. Super Tuesday isn’t the Super Bowl, but it’s a big event. 16 States, two parties, many endings. Or at least it should have been. Unfortunately, it looks like Donald and Joe are locked…

  • Blog Post #62: Substack

Do you read Substack? I don’t usually, but today I went down a bit of a rabbit hole reading a bunch of different stuff, and was genuinely shocked by how good some of it was. Some was trash, but overall, much better than expected. A common theme that floats around is that technology has vaporised…

  • Blog Post #61: What makes a champion team?

I watched the Manchester Derby with a friend this morning, and once again, Manchester City got the chocolates at home, beating the once invincible Manchester United 3-1. They didn’t make it easy, and at half time, United were leading. But three goals in the second half is always going to be a challenge very few…

  • Blog Post #60: Spring is in the air

It’s technically Spring, but today, it finally felt like it. 17 degrees Celsius (62 for our NA followers) isn’t what I would consider hot, but while we were walking along the river to go to our favourite deli for a Reuben, we were in t-shirts and shorts within 10 minutes. Denver is well known for…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
