  • Rough start

Ky and I are about to begin our summer vacation. It’s something we have been quite looking forward to, but are slightly daunted by the long flight ahead. 9 hours is a long journey, especially with an infant. It turns out that the flight was the least of our worries, as 20 minutes into our…

  • Sad goodbyes

After two wonderful months, Occi’s grandparents, Kim and Graham, have flown back to New Zealand. They have been a godsend. It certainly wasn’t a holiday for them. With Ky back at work, they were on full time Occi duty. This meant trips to the library, swimming lessons, music lessons, and most of all, time spent…

  • We’re back!

People love to complain about their telecom provider. Who wouldn’t? After all, you don’t think about them 99% of the time, and then 1% of the time, either due to poor connection, an unexpected bill, or an outage, it is all consuming. As readers of this series will know, yesterday our internet went out. Today,…

  • Outage

Our internet decided to shit the bed today, around 1:30 pm. It’s been very annoying. There is a technician coming round tomorrow, but for now, we’re going to just muddle on through.

  • Up and Away

It has been almost 5 months, but today, we finally, FINALLY, unpacked our last packing box. It was, unsurprisingly, our art. Now, art is probably too strong a word. Most of it is really just framed photos of our wedding, family, and holidays, but there are a few pieces that deserve to see the light…

  • Preseason

In a couple of weeks, the NFL kicks off. I don’t mind watching the last quarter on a Sunday, huddled up while the snow falls. Honestly, I quite like it. But at ~$300 a ticket, I can’t see myself going to a game anytime soon. The exception is preseason, where tickets are 90% off. Graham,…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
