  • Surprised!

We had friends round tonight for a surprise party. They recently got engaged, and Ky and I are thrilled for them. Sadly, we couldn’t make it to their Boston engagement party, but now that they’re back in the centennial state, we wanted to do something to celebrate. It was the perfect example of casual dinner…

  • MASSIVE WIN TODAY: The Sequel

Many years ago, in a moment of distraction, I sent out a team-wide email that hadn’t been properly checked. For those that were there, it went down in Kiwibank folklore. For those who weren’t, a quick summary can be found HERE. Well, today I want to add a second one to the list. It was…

  • Marginal improvement

I have been slowly getting back into running recently, and today was the first time I felt a proper improvement. It was faster, less painful, and I feel recovered already. Progress is progress.

  • Crowd pleaser

We went to ANOTHER 1st birthday party this afternoon. It’s not that I’m complaining, I actually quite enjoy them, and today’s edition was top notch. Feeding a crowd is difficult, so picking the right dishes is crucial. These guys nailed it by going with the Texas style pulled pork. Pork in the US is absurdly…

  • Granny

Tonight was the AFL grand final, and spoiler alert, well done Brisbane. I’m writing this at 2:12 in the morning, after what was a fun albeit lopsided game. Despite both teams entering into half time at 34 all, the first time two teams have been even Stevens since 1909, the Lions stormed home to win…

  • Obsidian League

I have been really getting back into my Duolingo, and am now in the second highest league, the Obsidian league. For those who aren’t language-MAXXXING, DuoLingo gamifies the experience by allowing you to earn XP points, and each week you compete against others for who can earn the most. Finish in the top 5? Get…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
