  • I might be wrong

For three years, I have been a firm supporter of Israel’s occupation of Gaza. I have defended them, to friends and foe. I went to see Douglas Murray, and would send my Jewish friends messages of support and comfort. I drank the Kool Aid. I’m certainly no Hamas supporter. I still the society that Palestinians…

  • Luck of the draw

I sent off Octavia’s Australian passport application today, after being told I didn’t have all the documents yesterday. After spending a few hours picking up the required pieces of paper, I went to a different post office and tried again. This time, zero issues. The annoying thing was that it wasn’t the documents, it was…

  • Saturday the Missing

I took off at 7pm Friday night, and landed at 7am Sunday morning. If you asked me what I did on Saturday 2nd of August, 2025, the answer is absolutely nothing. It just disappeared.

  • Take-off

I’m writing this from Denver International Depatures, about to head back to Australia for a week. My mother is currently going through chemotherapy, and while it looks like she’ll be 100% fine, it’s still a tough experience for her, so I want to be back to see her. My plans in Sydney are simple; spend…

  • Mouthbreathing

I spoke with a good friend yesterday. He’s one of life’s great conversationalists and adventurers, so I am always thrilled to hear what he is up to. This time, the topic steered towards his latest fascination with breathing through one’s nose, and his disdain for “mouth-breathers”. Fascinating stuff. No, really. The term “mouth breather” feels…

  • Stages

It’s a silly thing, but the last two weeks I feel as though I have been going through the five stages of grief over a football transfer. Long story short, it looks like Newcastle’s best player is going to move to Liverpool. It is pretty disastrous for the club. Originally I was in denial, surely…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
