For the past few years, I have been working on nailing one dish: roast chicken with potatoes, carrots, and broccolini. There is a reason why chefs around the world consider it the meal they’re most likely to cook for those they love at home. When done well, it really is a magical dish. And while…

  • Queenstown

I am in Queenstown at the moment, which is one of my favourite places in the world. However, it has been full noise between work, family, seeing friends, and soaking up the beauty. Feeling spent, but happy.

  • Travelling, celeb style

The fam is heading down to Queenstown for a few days for Ky’s work offsite. It should be a full on week, but one which we’ll no doubt enjoy. Mum is flying over from Sydney to provide reinforcements, which should make the trip that much easier. Due to Ky’s schedule, we’re on different flights, and…

  • Power + People

When I think about the AI Space Race, it feels like there are only three countries in the game: the US, China, and perhaps surprisingly, France. While I went for my daily walk today, I wondered why, and my cute, back of the napkin answer boiled down to two factors, People + Power. People: Creating…

  • Too tasty to fail

Today the world of X has been alight with spicy memes regarding the incredible news that Klarna, the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) company, has begun offering their services to DoorDash, America’s favourite way to hail a private car for your burrito. My personal favourites stem from a terrific film called Margin Call, which charts…

  • Upgraded to Adult

I find it humorous that a certain subsection of America is deathly afraid of the implementation of a Chinese style Social Credit Score, because they’re already halfway there. The financial score, which determines not only your access to credit, but also entitles you to various perks, such as flight upgrades and basic shelter. For context,…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
