  • Egged up

A word of advice: if you order groceries online, and you share an account with another person, always double check to see if they have put anything in the basket already. Signed, me with 60 eggs in the fridge right now.

  • World Series

We didn’t go to the baseball this year, and we won’t, as the season wrapped up this evening. A few comments from one of the least informed people on the subject. These are the things I hear just living in the US, with no interest in the game: And that’s all folks. My knowledge of…

  • Halloween

It’s a spooky time of the year, and tonight was the big event. Well, not that big. We went to visit friends, enjoy some chili, and catchup. Ky, Occi and I of course had to dress up; we came as Linguine, Collette, and Remy from my all time favourite movie, Ratatouille. A fun time had…

  • Belt

I have two belts, but neither of them are very nice. One I only got a few months ago, but it had already begun falling apart a few weeks after purchase. The other one was a little large (I’ve lost a bit of weight) and it’s looking a bit tired. I didn’t like it. Today,…

  • A crazy stat

I like restaurants. Cheap Asian joints. Open air French Brasseries. Fine dining. I love them all. I even like learning about restaurants. Like many who enjoy cooking, I devoured Anthony Bourdain’s debut effort, Kitchen Confidential, then read his cook book from Les Halles. Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares is a guilty pleasure of mine. But it…

  • Hitting the goals

My Apple Watch tracks my movements, steps, and calories and more. It’s a great motivator. Which is why I just finished a 10 minute walk at 11pm in negative temps. Gotta close those wheels.

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
