  • Ok, Google

The house we’re staying in has a Google home set up, where you can talk to your appliances and make them work. It’s ok. I don’t hate them like I hate the dishwasher. And it’s cool to be able to turn the lights off at night and not have to get up. But it isn’t…

  • Where did the science go?

We had dear friends round for dinner this evening, and as usual, we started chatting about everyone’s favourite topic, the Roman Empire. Now, a lot of people have terrible takes about the Romans; pretty much anyone who talks about the Collapse of Rome has no idea what they’re talking about (there is a 1300 year…

  • Not Appy

Our place has a “smart” dishwasher that has Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity. I hate it. I mean, it cleans perfectly well. But for me to change settings, the dishwasher encourages you to download an app, create an account, with password (must include a number and symbol; can’t have anyone hacking into your dishwasher!), connect it…

  • Old-fashioned

Ky and I are heading to Italy in August for a wedding, and are currently in the process of finding accom before the event. This isn’t our first radio, so the usual plan is hit up Airbnb, see a few options, and hit book. Sadly, Italy doesn’t play like that. First off, it seems like…

  • Small investment

While going firmly walk today, I decided to pop into the nearby rec centre to buy a membership. For $15 a month, it’s a small investment into hopefully a healthy, longer, happier life. And that’s month to month, the annual cost is even cheaper! Tomorrow I go for my first session, and I’ll let you…

  • Big Ange

If you’re an Australian, you probably have a soft spot for Big Ange, aka Ange Postecoglu, the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur. Even if you’re not from the Land Down Under, you probably kinda like him. He certainly has had his fair share of critics. In the Premier League, almost all the managers are European,…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
