  • Perspective

I had an early call today to a potential client in Tel Aviv. “How was your day”, I asked casually as we broke the ice. “Great”, he replied, “only two bombings this week”. Everything really is a matter of perspective.

  • Snow day

We had, apparently, one of the biggest snow dumps in 20 years last week, but I have my doubts to its veracity. I am, however, fully confident in the Coloradans’ capacity to build with snow. There were a ton of things people had built, but I wanted to highlight the smallest and biggest ones. They…

  • Cook book

I have never really fell in love with a cook before. I’ve used some before, but often find that they have a few bangers, and the rest of the book is just a waste of space. Sometimes the recipes are too complex, or have a style which I don’t really gel with (Jamie Oliver, for…

  • It was the best of times, it was the worst of times

Ky and I joined a cult today. Like all cults, they don’t describe themselves as one, but it’s definitely a cult. They lure you in with a “too good to be true” message, and boom, you’ve signed your life away, at least for a year. I’m talking, of course, about CostCo. I could talk day…

  • Where did the policy go?

I was thinking just this afternoon, why didn’t I hear a word about healthcare policy in the recent election? I heard a lot about the economy, and abortion, and racism, and fascism, and free speech, and tariffs and even whether Haitian migrants were eating “tha dawgs”. What I didn’t hear, from either candidate, was a…

  • A funny political story

Forgive me if I have told this story before, but yesterday I promised to share with you my experience on how electorates see “key” issues. It was almost 10 years ago, and I was taking a breadth subject in politics; a welcome relief from my micro-economics lectures. Out lectures often had guest speakers, and on…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
