  • Meeting your muse

Today was a great day, and I’ll write more about it tomorrow. For now, I wanted to focus my writing today on the man who inspired me to start this journey. I caught up with Dan this evening for Sri Lankan food. I was late. The reason was infuriating; I caught the right tube, but…

  • London

I’m back. Some call it heaven, some call it hell, and millions call it home. I’m very glad to be here. It’s going to be a whirlwind. I have a visa appointment tomorrow, and then it’s back to it work-wise. Within that time, I have found some time to catch up with a bunch of…

  • Yachts

One thing that you’re guaranteed to see in the south of France are super yachts. After seeing a few, I realise that they aren’t all created equally. While walking past the Marina, the majority of boats are similar to anything you’d see in Melbourne, Auckland, or Vancouver. Some are nice, some are REALLY nice, but…

  • Catch up

Today was a very special day. Ky and I were able to criss cross our honeymoon with some very dear friends. Regular readers of this series will remember Lachy and Hanna, who recently wed in Tasmania, and are currently enjoying their honeymoon cycling from Switzerland to the sea. Hats off to them! This evening, we…

  • Truth in Review

Some people feel uncomfortable giving bad reviews, especially for things like AirBnbs and Ubers. I understand the sentiment, but think that honesty is the best policy. Ky and I are currently staying at a place, which given its location, price, and amenities, is a 3 star experience. The bed isn’t great. There isn’t any wifi….

  • Elections

Yesterday was the UK general election. For those who are interested, you won’t read anything here that hasn’t already been covered to death. Instead, I thought I would comment on a strange convention that occurs at 10 Downing Street. It’s been less than 24 hours since polls closed, and already Rishi Sunak requires his mail…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
