Ky and I have set the goal to run 2x5k each week for 52 weeks, and today we did number one.
As usual, I was totally disorganized and left my runners at home, so ended up running the full 5k in bare feet. I don’t think I’d ever run more than 20m in my whole life barefooted before, so honestly, I was pretty apprehensive, and thought I would be the walking wounded today.
Turns out, our ancestors used to run a lot without shoes, and so can we. Running for 5k on sand wasn’t the end of the world, in fact, it was quite enjoyable. As I lay here in bed now, I have no soreness. What a success, and only 103 to go.
