Blog Post #70: Knowing your limits

As my work ramps up, I currently get a day a week off, so today I went skiing with my friend Jason. I mean, with Spring in the air, and the weather warming up, the days to go are dropping.

One of the things I have found as I get older is knowing your limits. For me, one of my key rules now when on the slopes is always to leave a few runs in the tank. Almost every skiing injury story starts with “so, it was the last run of the day, and…”.

At the end of the day, you’re tired. But that’s not the issue; the biggest threat is that everyone around you is equally tired. Mentally, physically, and possibly dehydrated and hungry, you’re really putting yourself in harms way.

Knowing when to quit, and when to get off the blacks, is not only good for your ability to maximize time spent skiing over the long run, you also get to skip the traffic.

12 year old Harry wouldn’t agree with this.

PS all goals done
