I am at CU Boulder’s main campus today, meeting with my intern. It’s weird to be back at university; everyone looks so young!
CU isn’t Harvard, but it’s still a fine institution. I can tell by walking around; although not by observing the students pouring over books or an honour board filled with Nobel Laureates. No, it is the large scale level of construction going on that tells me that this is a serious place of scholarship.
Through primary, middle, high school, then undergrad and post-grad, there was an extremely strong correlation between level of construction and quality of education. The sound of a crackling fire in the JCR might have been the soundtrack to scholars past, but its a beeping bobcat and a deafening jackhammer today.
