My favourite British politician is Jacob Rees-Mogg. Not for any political reasons, dare I say, but because he truly lives up to his moniker, Minister of the 18th century. He’s eccentric, wonderfully composed, and a character that could only come from the isles.
Recently, the internet rediscovered some prose he penned, I imagine quite a while ago. It reads like something out of Private Eye!
On Friday, I had the great privilege of visitn the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum with my mother. It is remarkable to see so old an object that has suvivided in such good condition.
Fortunately, his mother had a chuckle at the gaffe, so all’s well that ends well.
