It is hard to believe, but O turned two. 24 months ago she was just a little crying potato that we took home from the hospital, and now she really is her own person.
It was a lovely day. Ky, as always, put on the full works; starting with a toy party outside her room to start the day.
As you can imagine, Octavia was VERY surprised.
Breakfast was birthday breakfast, blueberry pancakes with ice-cream and maple syrup. Definitely not an everyday meal, but not everyday is your birthday.
After opening presents, Ky took Octavia to a pumpkin patch to do a whole host of farm activities in the mud, which was just as fun as you can imagine. In the afternoon, I took O to the Denver Cat Cafe, where she couldn’t believe her luck!
For as long as she could see in colour, Octavia has loved animals, but cats are definitely in the top three (along with flamingos and axolotls; I don’t make the rules). So to be in a cosy cafe with 20+ felines running around was a dream come true; at least for Octavia. Some of the older cats were smart enough to identify a rumbunctious two-year old and stayed clear; their bent tails and misshapen whiskers told the story of previous naivete.
It was a wonderful day for the three of us, and a big thank you to everyone who sent us gifts. We are all so appreciative.
