Two days ago, Ky and I went down to the Apple Store to upgrade our iPhones. After 3+ years of daily use, it was certainly time.
I wrote a while ago about how we have well and truly in late-stage iPhone. There is a slightly better camera, a different charging port, and a lot more battery. I can’t tell the difference on the screen, I listen to 95% of the sound emitted from my phone via speakers, and don’t take many photos.
But it IS nice to have a phone that doesn’t glitch out or run out of steam.
Warren Buffet has made a motza on Apple; off the top of my head I think he owns ~5% of the company. But when I was in the store the other day, I wondered if the glory days were behind them. They had six Vision Pros that people could try on; no one had any interest. Their watches are very popular; their phones even more so. And unlike every other big tech company, they haven’t incinerated billions of dollars trying to build AI models. I wouldn’t write them off just yet.
