  • The Teacher’s Pet

I have recently been listening to a new podcast series; The Teacher’s Pet. For some of my readers, they’ll realise I am a little late to the party, but some stories are timeless. The podcast is a multi-part investigation into Chris Dawson, who may (or may not) have murdered his wife back in the 80’s…

  • Connections

The NYT gave me a complimentary all access pass for 6 months, and part of that includes the NYT Games section. While I am not a fan of the crossword (largely due to the UX/UI) or the sudoku (same reason), the other puzzles are great. For now, my go-to is Connections. The puzzle is a…

  • Elevated

Ky and I went to visit a new neighbourhood today, just to check out whether or not we would like it. We’re planning on moving out next year to a house, and picking the right spot is worth focussing on. The area we visited was Washington Park, and we ran some laps around the eponymous…

  • Budget

Ky and I are putting together our annual budget, and spent a fair bit of time this evening working on it #romance. It’s an interesting process. We have decided to go with the classic 50/30/20 split; 50% needs, 30% wants, 20% savings, but it isn’t always clear cut. For example, our coffee subscription is in…

  • Debate night

This afternoon, leaders from seven of the UK’s leading parties squared off for a BBC debate. The general election will be held on the 4th, and while everyone knows the details (a Conservative wipeout), nobody really knows the details. I was listening to the debate this afternoon while cooking dinner, and really quite enjoyed it….

  • The upset

This morning, one of the great upsets occurred in world cricket when the US beat Pakistan. For context, this would be the equivalent of Pakistan beating the US in baseball, so in terms of upsets, this is a big one. What has been so cool about this tournament is the mix of teams. For example,…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
