  • Allez les Dogues!

How does one come to support a team? Usually, it is fairly straightforward; you inherit it from your parents, or your community, or a friend, and occassionally, a stroke of serendipity. When thought of in this context, you can see why many people see it as a religion. In 99% of instances, it is something…

  • Listy

I have been vibe coding for a while, and have a few projects that have been used internally at work. Today, I have something cool to share, which hopefully you might find handy. I call it Listy, and you try it out HERE. It is very simple, it allows a user to send a single…

  • Tariff

Trump says they’re good. Most people think they’re terrible. I’m one of them, but there will be no limit to propagandists out there trying to convince you otherwise. Stay wise.

  • Admissions: UATX Edition

There is cryptic crosswords complex. There is quantum mechanics complex. And then, there is US College Admission complex, which leaves the other two in the dust in terms of its byzantine requirements. Growing up in Australia, university admissions were straightforward. You did 6 subjects in your last two years, completed your exams, were given a…

  • Planning it out

My colleague and I are working on a new project today, mapping out the competitor landscape. Did we make much progress? Not on paper. A huge amount of time was spent scoping out the project, deciding our starting points, our end points, and our plan of attack. There was a lot of talking, not much…

  • KB Catch Up

I caught up with some old colleagues today from my time back at Kiwibank. The fifth largest bank in a tiny country where 90% of financial services are provided by the Big Four, Kiwibank nevertheless gave me some fun times, a steady paycheck, a few lessons, and most importantly, some good mates. It was originally…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
