  • A job well done

Ky, Occi, and I are in Melbourne for the weekend. We’re having a wonderful time, but only thanks to a lot of people doing their jobs well. Ky, as always, is doing an incredible job planning and executing the next few days. It’s incredible how well she pulls things together, and I’m constantly amazed at…

  • What are the odds?

We all have places where we know we’re almost certainly going to bump into someone we know. For some readers, it’s the MCC, or Collin’s Street, or Central Park. For Ky, and to a lesser me, Auckland Airport is a happy hunting ground. While we had no luck this time, by God’s good graces we…

  • Video Editing

Perhaps you’ve made a video before, perhaps you haven’t. Either way, I can guarantee you that it takes longer than you imagine. Perhaps that is true for all creative endeavors. As I reflect on it, I think there might be something to that. Videos, like paintings or gardens, are never really “finished”. There is always…

  • Helpful ears

We all have friends that we can lean on when we need advice, but we often don’t reach out as much as we should. You’d be surprised by their advice and insights, and how much people really are willing to help.

  • Broken Hill, Broken Clock

I found out yesterday a strange geographic fact. Working and traveling abroad requires me to be up to date with time zones; which always gets me to thinking about the curious case of South Australia, which has a 30 minute difference to the Eastern Seaboard. I don’t know anywhere else in the world that has…

  • Same time, but different

After a wonderful three weeks up in Northland, we are back in Auckland for the week. Ultimately, we decided to fly. It’s a short one, only 40 minutes, and amazingly, required no ID check or security. Clearly the number of radicalised terrorists in the semi-tropical regions of the South Pacific are either low in number…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
