  • Sun rise

I had to get up at 5:45 this morning to get on a work call, and while it was slightly annoying as I was stood up, it did mean I got something nice in return, a beautiful sunrise. Ky and I are staying at a place right on the beach, and as I write this,…

  • Delicious

Some cities are known for their architecture, their culture, or their nightlife. For Hobart, I think it’s the food. Last night Ky and I went out to dine at ALOFT, and had a superbly made (and priced!) meal out. There were so many highlights throughout the meal, from a raw wallaby tartare on tapioca, to…

  • Hobart Pt 1

Ky and I are in Tasmania this week for a friend’s wedding, and our journey starts in Hobart. We flew in to Hobart this morning after spending some time in my favourite part of the world (the airport lounge, which was surprisingly good!). Hobart is a great place, and we started our journey with a…

  • Catch ups

This afternoon Ky and I had a bunch of friends round to catch up at Gilbees. If you’re a Melbourne reader, I highly recommend you check the place out, whether for drinks, coffee, lunch, or just as a place to hangout. It was such a privilege to be able to catch up with a bunch…

  • Shark Park

Last night I caught up with friends at the Arcadia Hotel in South Yarra, more widely known as Arc, or less known, Shark Park, for steak night. As a young man, I frequented this particular establishment probably a little too much. It was the preferred watering hole of my old football club AND high school,…

  • Listening to the ABC

While driving to the airport to pick up my wife, I took the opportunity to listen to 774 ABC. For my American readers, the ABC is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the local equivalent to the BBC. This morning, the topic was the recent controversy of last night’s AFL game. Plenty of view points were thrown…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
