We’ll be back to regular programming tomorrow, but alas, the schedule post feature on WordPress just does. Not. Work. It should in practice, but I’ve been completely stitched up in this regard. Feel free to read my posts on Thanksgiving and Book Club at the attached links, but in the meantime, let me entertain you…

  • Thanksgiving

It’s my favourite US holiday, and this year we got two for the price of one. Yesterday, Thanksgiving proper was had at our friend’s place. It was exactly what you’d expect expect; turkey (which wasn’t dry!), stuffing (or dressing as our neighbors call it), mash, bread, gravy, and lashing of wine. We didn’t pass into…

  • Book club

I’m part of the world’s smallest book club; right now it’s just two people, our Chief Product Officer, and me. We meet every two weeks to discuss a book on product, management, sales, or something else useful to the business. Friday is our first session. The first book is called “The inmates are running the…

  • Demo Day

I don’t like being bored at work, so while I have a bit of down time, I have been fiddling around with a few side quests. Thanks to AI, building has never been easier. When you’re unsure of what you’re doing, it can be difficult demoing to your peers, especially if they’re experts. So it’s…

  • Stone’s Ginger Wine

We recently picked up some drinks for Thanksgiving/Birthday/Christmas, and in the mix was Stone’s Ginger Wine. If you haven’t had it before, it’s hard to describe. It is like the essence of an aloholic ginger beer, as though someone had reduced it over the stove for 20 minutes. I first had it many moons ago…

  • Adobe

You may know the company from Acrobat, their PDF viewer which was essential downloading until Google Chrome cucked them. Or if you’re more creative, you may be familiar with their software like Premiere or Auditon. Either way, they’re kinda famous, and also very poorly received. In a world where people want to surprise and delight…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
