  • Adobe

You may know the company from Acrobat, their PDF viewer which was essential downloading until Google Chrome cucked them. Or if you’re more creative, you may be familiar with their software like Premiere or Auditon. Either way, they’re kinda famous, and also very poorly received. In a world where people want to surprise and delight…

  • Never judge a pitch until both sides have batted

Two days I wrote about how India was collapsing under a relentless Australian bowling attack, and thought that the game would be over before it really started. However, I did leave a caveat; “never judge a pitch until both sides have batted”. To my American readers, the pitch makes a huge difference when it comes…

  • Sensory overload

Ky and I went to a 40th birthday today, our first. It was at a place called Pindustry, which was, by far, one of the most unusual venues I have ever been in my life. It was out in the boonies, where there isn’t as much of a premium on being hip, nor being economical…

  • GitHub

I don’t fully understand, but now I have a GitHub, and not only that, I use it! For those who’d don’t know what GitHub is, it’s a repository for code. It’s got a few purposes; it’s a portfolio, you can see what other people have done, and you can store the various iterations of your…

  • Day One

It’s the start of the Australian Test Summer, and I’m pumped! It’s not only on at the perfect time (7:30pm start) but it’s against one of my favourite teams to see, India. It’s just hit lunch, and it looks like the Indians have really struggled. The pitch isn’t doing a huge amount, but the bowling…

  • 600 Club

The St Catz Rugby Club just ticked over 600 followers on social media, which is clearly cause for a celebration. Whether they’re university clubs, or sporting clubs, and especially university sporting clubs, that usually includes having a pint. Or in this case, 600. Despite not pulling on the blue and claret jersey for a while,…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
