  • Happy New Year!

I was planning on doing a full recap, but time has escaped me, so I’ll do it tomorrow. Stay safe, be bold, have fun, and I’ll see y’all in 2025!

  • A year of writing

It’s almost been an entire year since I decided to start writing this blog, and while I haven’t written every day, I did so for 97.5% of them. Not shabby. When I look back at what I think went right, I think what stood out was starting slow. For the first month, all my blog…

  • Pre-Cap

Tomorrow is the last day of the year, and I was wondering if you, dear reader, have any questions you’d like answered! I am planning on doing a recap of the year, and my predictions for 2025. However, I’m open to suggestions, and would love to hear what you like, what you dislike, and what…

  • Invention

Walmart is an American icon. Love it or hate it, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who hasn’t bought something there. We went there today to show Dee and Ben around, and we thought it was a scream. In particular, Ben and I were captivated by the fishing aisle, where they had a rod…

  • The Nut Cracker

Ky and I went to the ballet this evening to watch the Nut Cracker. It was a lovely chance to soak up some high culture and do something christmassy. I’m a fan of the ballet, particularly the Tchaikovsky numbers. While Swan Lake remains number 1, I think the NC is a lot of fun. What…

  • Crowd pleaser

It’s hard to pick a meal that everyone enjoys, that can be made easily, cheaply, and at scale. The ones that can tick off all four boxes are what I call School Camp Classics. The list is very limited, but top of the list would have to be the Sticky Date Pudding. We made it…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
