  • Duolingo Max

I have been gifted three days worth of DuoLingo Max, which is the AI powered version of DuoLingo. It’s a great addition. It unlocks features like video chat, where I can chat with an avatar in Spanish, both verbally and written. It is certainly a step up from what they already have. However, this benefit…

  • A good week

How do measure if you had a good week or not? Do you use a checklist or quantitative approach, idealized as “my goals are to do X, Y., and Z; if I do, that’s a success”. Or is it a feeling you have on Friday evening where you think, well, that was time well spent,…

  • Date night

Ky and I had our first date night this evening since Occi was born. It was two hours, but it was great. Kylene’s old company runs an alumni event every year in each city they operate out of. It’s a pretty sweet gig to be invited to; technically they’re looking for clients, but we’re just…

  • DOGE

As someone with an above average (not difficult) interest in fiscal policy, in the peak Elon fanboy demographic, and an enjoyer of big bets, I was pleased to see Trump’s appointment of Elon Musk and shit-stirrer extraordinaire Vivek Ramashwamy to the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, aka DOGE. Doge, for those who don’t know,…

  • Perspective

I had an early call today to a potential client in Tel Aviv. “How was your day”, I asked casually as we broke the ice. “Great”, he replied, “only two bombings this week”. Everything really is a matter of perspective.

  • Snow day

We had, apparently, one of the biggest snow dumps in 20 years last week, but I have my doubts to its veracity. I am, however, fully confident in the Coloradans’ capacity to build with snow. There were a ton of things people had built, but I wanted to highlight the smallest and biggest ones. They…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
