  • Terrific

Three weeks ago, our dishwasher started making some strange sounds. We called maintenance, and employing an interesting strategy, they decided to take the misbehaving part. Interesting, how so? Well, they didn’t replace it, so we went from a noisy dishwasher to an ineffective one. There is something mildly infuriating about playing Russian Roulette with a…

  • Out from the back

When do you give up on an optimal strategy? That’s a great question, and one that I have been thinking about quite a bit about recently, especially since learning a little more about soccer and the tactics that seperate the contenders from the pretenders. I am no expert, but the one thing I have half…

  • Anti-vax

First off, I’m of course not anti-vax when it comes to ALL vaccines, but I tell you what, this latest TDAP has me going down the rabbit hole. Ok, you’re probably freaking out now, so let me add some context. To protect our upcoming child, I recently got the TDAP (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine….

  • Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday, Ky and I went to a pumpkin patch to pick up a decorative gourd. It wasn’t a half bad experience! Many people are fascinated by farms. I’m one of them, as are the millions of people who tune into Clarkson’s Farm. Even David Beckham has decided that the best way to plonk his…

  • The College Game

Last night, while I was chilling at home, I was flicking through the channels and found a college football game between Alabama and Georgia. Now, for those who are into college sports, this might be one of the biggest games of the season, but for the uninitiated, like yours truly, it was just a distraction…

  • iTalki

After 264 days of studying French on DuoLingo, I realised I wanted to take it up a notch, so today I did my first lesson on iTalki. iTalki is a platform that allows language learners to connect with teachers from across the world, and for $7, I was able to do a 30 minute trial…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
